Located at 462 Third Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910, Galu Café and Delicatessen operates as a cafe serving Chula Vista in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under cafe, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 am–3 pm. Its website is galucafeca.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 297 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded cafes & coffee in Chula Vista.

Chula Vista is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chula Vista follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I've driven by this little gem (downtown Chula Vista, 3rd Ave Village) many times & always see a line of 6 to 10 people & the line never seems to end. Service was actually very quick with delicious & varied drinks coming out first & food following shortly thereafter. Coffees were so flavorful & the menu is better than most coffee shops. We have Tamaco egg salad sandwich & tomato basil soup w/thick grilled cheese. Seating is all outside in a nice patio & on sidewalk tables. Worth the visit.

I enjoy coming here every other day that I am free. I have to say that the main reason I come back is for their chilaquiles blancos. I do think their espresso is decent, so if you like strong coffee, I do recommend visiting elsewhere. One thing I do want to point out is that I often experience a lack of friendliness or hospitality from a couple of employees each time I visit. I don't really see the same faces every time, but this is my main concern about this coffee shop. If you leave out the fact that it's always busy due to the popularity they gained, I think the food and drinks make it worth it to wait for. However, their customer service makes it hard to go back at times as they rarely smile or lack the right skills to interact with customers and cater to their needs. I say this from my personal experience; it's a let down that each time I've been there I'm met with this cold attitude.

Came for the matcha because of the good reviews. Sorry but not a fan. Perhaps it was the specific drink I got, the black sesame matcha. Zero matcha flavor and the black sesame foam is incredibly bitter. The whole drink feels gritty. Also they whisk matcha for about 3 matcha drinks at a time but do not measure out the matcha for each drink, so I believe this drink got the short end of the stick and just got the watered down last drops of matcha. Some of the drinks that came out had a vibrant green color but mine did not. I normally will finish a drink even if I don’t entirely like it but this is not even drinkable. Unfortunately, it was not worth $8.59 at all. As someone that has consumed a lot of black sesame and matcha products, I really do hope they improve this drink.
